The UP R&D department is constantly working on new ways to refine the performance and the handling of our Open Class flagship. The XD70 is the latest result of that work, and we have decided to make it available to loyal UP comp pilots.

The XD70 is a purebred Open Class wing. With an AR of 8 (flat) and only two lines on each of the 3 risers/side this is a machine that oozes performance right out of the bag.

In spite of the high AR the XD70 remains very manageable in thermals, with a lively handling and very smooth carving turns. It doesn't suffer in the least from the tendency to throw you out of the curve that pilots flying very elongated designs are all too familiar with. The speed system is light and VERY efficient, and the wing remains stable all the way up. The high trim speed may be checked by the efficient 2. generation Pitch Trimmers to ensure that no one climbs past you even in the weakest of lift.

In spite of being a very well-rounded comp wing the XD70 remains something of a work in progress - but if your Edge is getting a little weary and you'd like to stick with the quality and handling you have come to enjoy then the XD70 is your wing.
