Performance is like any other dope - all the do-gooders tell you it isn't right, that you don't need it to get high etc. but at the end of the day, if you're hooked on it then you're hooked and nothing they say at rehab is going to change that anyway. If you are one of those pilots then the Kantega XC2 is the wing for you!

The B class is getting wider and more all-encompassing these years. This is why we're now introducing the third model in this class only this season, and this time we're on a performance quest. The Kantega XC2 is designed for long, technical XC flights, wherever these may take you, and has the speed and the performance to deliver, every time. It is however still an EN B wing so you need not worry about any unwanted behaviour when the going gets tough - at UP, the joy of flying an easy, comfortable and predictable wing comes first in all classes!

The Kantega XC2 is already through certification tests in size M (pending load test) and we expect this size to be on stock in all colours from around February, with the remaining sizes to follow shortly thereafter.

Highlights of the new Kantega XC2:

 

  • Ridiculous performance for its class!
  • Extremely precise line layout of only 2 main lines per riser - low line consumption to reach minimum line drag by using a mix of sheathed and unsheathed lines in different diameters; 3 sheathed and 5 unsheathed line qualities,
  • 3D panel shaping - less wrinkles in the canopy, better performance and higher collapse resistance,
  • Half-moon shaped cell openings - perfect leading edge definition for optimised performance and safety,
  • Nylon-reinforced leading edge - small, interchangeable battens ensure perfect leading edge definition for the entire life span of the wing. This translates into easy launching for as long as the glider is airworthy, as well as higher collapse resistance,
  • High quality Ronstan ball-bearing pulleys for the speed system - light and efficient, good for those long into-wind transitions!
  • Brake Tensioning System - trailing edge tension is good for handling and safety, but influences performance negatively. With BTS the tension is only there when you need it,
  • UP swept-back wingtips which are now becoming industry standard - better handling, better turn performance,
  • Modern and very accurately designed aerofoils and precise internal structure finished to finest detail to reach our target: Perfect safety, performance and handling combination,
  • Three standard colour combo versions available, endless individual possibilities with our colour chooser option!
